Positive: Gorgeous renovated Kasbah. Traditional stay. Enough room for all of us in the executive suite. We felt like we were living in shabby-chic luxury. Staff was excellent.

Negative: Hidden fees. Beware when booking via booking.com. There are hidden fees, and the additional costs are very high for the area. For example, dinner for is 450dh, probably high because there are no other options nearby, but this was fine. Though the total for dinner was a lot more than the quoted 450dh, but this is on us for not asking for more information upon checkout (we were unfortunately in a rush). The unfortunate issue is that we booked through booking.com and prepaid but the hotel staff didn’t know this or pretended not to and charged us for the room again upon checkout. When they were shown receipts that proved that we were double charged, they continued to insist that the first charge never happened. There was also an additional fee for the camel rides (transport to the desert as this is not on site) that we were charged upon checkout. They never warned us about this charge. We were happy to pay it but I recommend that you ask them for all costs upfront, including transports to activities, to avoid surprises.

Summary: Peaceful stay in a very cool structure but it costs more than you think
