The Flyway Lodge is conveniently located on Wisconsin's Great River Road National Scenic Byway with views of the bluffs out the front windows and the Mississippi River out the back. The Fountain City public boat landing, public park, ice cream/coffee shop and a bike shop are all within walking distance. There’s direct access to the Flyway bike trail and snowmobile trail. The Lodge is 1500 sq ft and features a large living, dining and bedroom area with vaulted ceilings, a king size log bed, two sets of twin log bunk beds (built strong enough for adults), a log dining room table with 4 chairs and a bench, brown leather reclining couch, loveseat and rocker recliner and a 55” Smart TV. There’s a brand new spacious bathroom with a tub/shower, vanity and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a commercial stainless kitchen sink/prep area, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans and utensils.
The Lodge has 9 dedicated parking spaces with additional space to park boat trailers, snowmobile trailers, racing trailers and campers. There’s a covered front porch area with a large yard, fire pit, charcoal grill and grilling utensils.
The town offers pleasant vistas of the Mississippi River from its characteristic terraced gardens. Nearby, 550-foot Eagle Bluff is the highest point on the Upper Mississippi. Seven Hawks Vineyard perches on the hillside outside of town while their Tasting Room is nestled in a historic downtown building. The Prairie Moon Museum & Sculpture Garden, a fanciful folk art attraction, is located just north of Fountain City. Winona, MN is located 10 minutes south of the Lodge.
