The Historic Volante Hotel was completely refurbished and updated inside but retains its old Southern Charm from the 1890's. It is now a private residence and available to rent only to one party at a time. Spend your holiday in a true southern mansion. Summary: Excellent place to stay in Fairhope. It has all the southern charm and a great view of the bay. We enjoyed fishing, crabbing, throwing a cast net, swimming. We visited downtown Fairhope, a tea plantation on Weeks Bay, and went kayaking on the Dog River. The house accommodated our group well. We had everything we needed. The house is exceptionally well furnished. It appears to be a place that the owner uses and they have done a great job of making guests feel at home. Be forewarned that there are stairs everywhere, so if someone from your group has trouble with this, then it may not be the place for you.
