Positive: We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this property. My wife, daughter, and I spent six nights here at the end of October 2025. The house was spotless, with generously sized bedrooms and bathrooms, all well-stocked with plenty of towels. The kitchen was also very clean and well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. However, more cutlery would useful if more people are staying. The location was peaceful and just a short five-minute drive to New Paltz — a car is definitely necessary. It was the perfect base for us, as we were visiting our son who is studying at SUNY, and it also gave us a great opportunity to explore the Hudson Valley. During our stay, we had a few questions and reached out to the owner via email. She responded promptly and was very helpful in addressing everything we asked.

Negative: We encountered a few minor issues during our stay, but these were resolved promptly thanks to the owner’s quick and helpful responses to our emails. Late Check-In & Entry Code Issue We had informed the owner in advance that we’d be arriving late, as we were driving from JFK after a flight from London. Due to heavy traffic, we arrived about 30 minutes later than expected. The property was very dark on arrival, and unfortunately, the entry code didn’t work. We contacted the owner, and her daughter came out to assist us. She was very helpful, reset the code, and ensured we got in safely. Property Listing Clarity We booked through Booking.com and assumed we had exclusive use of the entire property, as the top of the listing states “The entire place is yours.” On arrival, we were informed that the owner’s daughter lives in the lower ground floor unit. While this was unexpected, it wasn’t an issue — her space is self-contained with a separate entrance. When we raised this with the owner, she referred us to a note further down the listing under “Managed by Evolve,” which states “Homeowner on-site (lower unit).” Laundry Access Please note that the washing machine and dryer are only available for guest use on weekends. Guest Information Booklet There was no welcome booklet or guide in the property explaining how to use the heating/AC, television, or other amenities. However, the owner responded quickly to our queries and mentioned she would prepare one for future guests.

Summary: A clean, spacious property that provides an excellent base to explore the Hudson Valley.
